THE HUNCHBACK STRIKES AGAIN – Two classic horror films were shown in the cafeteria much to the horror of TC students. Several students had to stand during the films due to the limited space. More films are being considered by the Student Activity Committee for this year.

ALUMNI OFFICERS – The newly elected officers of the William Buchanan Department of Nursing Alumni Association are (left to right) Artie Erwin, recording secretary; Rita Williams, corresponding secretary; Gaines Bridgeman, vice-president; Carol Collyins, treasurer; Arthalba Johnson, president; Sadie Burdue, historian. The executive committee will meet in January to discuss plans for a spring meeting of the association.

Students were held in suspense (between laughs) last Friday as Lon Chaney and others visited Transylvania and all its horrors. The two films brought to TC by the Student Activities Committee were The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Cat and the Canary. Continuous showings in the cafeteria and no charge brought a large crowd of students to the silent flicks.

At one point, true panic went through the crowd, but the movie was not the reason. According to Mrs. Sharon Drake, the reel got caught, sending film all over the cafeteria floor. “At first, we honestly panicked,” said Mrs. Drake, “but later, we had to laugh.”

Because of the good response, the Student Activities Committee has made future plans for more silent film showings. According to Mrs. Drake, they are trying to get some Valentino, Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, and Spanky and Our Gang films.

Sponsors for the Committee are Mrs. Drake and Mrs. Nellie Kate Thomas.
