Activity fee change to hit all students beginning fall 1977

The activity fee has been changed. It is now called a student services fee and will be assessed to all students on a proportionate scale.

Action was taken on the matter at the November meeting of the Committee of 12. It has been decided that all students enrolled in semester hour programs will be charged a service fee of fifty cents per semester hour with a maximum charge of $7; clock hour students will be charged the equivalent of $3.50 per semester for part-time students and $7 for full-time students.

The activity fee overhaul came as a result of recommendations from senate members and after a survey was taken of other community colleges in the area. The fee goes into effect in September, 1977.

In other committee news, Dr. Nelson, president of TCC, stated that action concerning on campus parking was being suspended until the results of the Humanities Building grant are learned.

A discussion concerning the feasibility of printing the Campus News on campus was tabled at the request of Dean Hughes.

Other items on the agenda included the purchase of a clock for the Classroom Building and a large activities calendar for the Student Center.

The spring break change was also discussed, but no action was taken.

By general consent, the December meeting was cancelled.
