David DeCastro smashed favorite Mark Tullos to win the Texarkana College Intramural Tennis Tournament on Nov 9.
In a gusting wind, DeCastro sailed to an easy 10-3 win. DeCastro showed his durability as he disposed of both Tullos and challenger Randy Kendrick in the same day. Kendrick went down by an 8-5 score.
Kendrick had earned the right to face DeCastro by defeating Bob Christensen 8-3.
In the girl’s tourney Karen McDaniel downed Norma Nelson 10-6 and Heather Thompson 8-4.
