The Dallas Office of the FBI, through its Special Agent in Charge, Mr. James A. Abbott, has announced it is in need of clerical employees to fill a limited number of clerk, typist, and stenographer positions at Dallas, Texas. No previous experience is necessary since employees are assigned to existing vacancies when they enter on duty and receive on-the-job training in their assigned duties. These positions are not under Civil Service appointment regulations. To qualify for consideration for FBI employment you must: (1) be a United States citizen; (2) have a high school graduate or its equivalent; (3) be at least 16 years old; (4) have satisfactory vision, with or without corrective glasses; and (5) pass a rigid background investigation before being made suitable for employment.
FBI clerical employees may continue their college education on a part-time basis while working at these full-time clerical jobs. Young men and women who possess a four year college degree from an accredited college, and who have been employed in a clerical capacity with the FBI for three years, and meet all other requirements, may then be considered for the Special Agent position at a starting salary of $18,760 (GS-10) plus overtime of $4,690 per year.

Vacancies for the positions of Clerk, Typist, and Stenographer frequently exist in Bureau Headquarters, in Washington, D.C., for which interested and qualified applicants may also be considered.
