Paul McFerran, physics instructor and division chairman, and Mrs. McFerran attended the fall meeting of the Texas division of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) Nov. 6, 7, and 8. Also attending the meeting at Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas was Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ward. Ward is also a physics instructor at TC.
Guest speakers from various colleges and universities gave papers on problems of physics enrollments in colleges and high schools, innovations in teaching physics, and new devices for lab and lecture demonstration in teaching physics.
Dr. Mary F. Gourley of Austin College in Sherman spoke on the use of computers in the teaching of physics. Also, Dr. B. T. Young of Angelo State University, president of the Texas division of the AAPT gave a talk, entitled “Resource Packets from the Commission on College Physics,” at a meeting Nov. 7.
