Concerned students at TC recently indulged in a typical outpouring of enthusiasm. A poll was conducted through the campus newspaper (Nov. 7) asking students whether or not they favored a $1 increase in the activity fee “for the purpose of attracting better entertainment.” Students were asked to check “yes” or “no”. The vote in favor was 24, against 10.
An old saying, which bears repeating, is “silence is consent.” If response to the official vote on this issue is as lame as it was to the poll, it must be assumed that those not voting have no objection to the raise. Let us then hear no bitching from the “silent majority” about the activity fee!
