Kiwanis Club to Give TC Scholarship To Winning Project at Science Fair

In March, 1970 Texarkana College will again hold a science fair for junior high and senior high school students.

Science projects will be exhibited in the college science complex. A one-year scholarship to TC will be awarded to the winner in the senior high division. The scholarship is a gift from the Kiwanis Club in Texarkana. The Miller and Bowie County medical and dental societies will give U.S. savings bonds to the students whose exhibits are judged best in the area of medicine and dentistry.

The general purpose of the fair is to acquaint people of this area with what the college has to offer in the field of science. “The college and its science and engineering division is interested in the promotion of scientific learning and interest in the area of science,” said Paul McFerrran, physics instructor and division chairman.

This year projects in the field of agriculture and math may be entered. The judges will be selected from various colleges and universities.

The science and engineering faculty at TC has invited science, math, and agriculture teachers to contact any member of the faculty or the publicity committee for information. The committee includes Willard Pyle, chairman, Grady Richardson, R. E. Ward, and Joe Varner.
