If you are planning to transfer to the University of Texas in Austin, and are in need of financial assistance, there is a new program to help you. Shirley Binder, Director of Financial aid at UT, said in a news release that the University is now offering a scholarship of $1,000 for the 1980 – 81 school year to minority and/or disadvantaged students transferring from a Texas college. The scholarship is renewable for the second year if the student has successfully completed the first year at UT. The deadline for applying is March 1, 1980. According to Georgia McTeal, TCC Counselor, anyone interested in this program should contact her or one of the other counselors in the Counseling Center.
