Music Department Student Recital Features Piano, Organ, Voice, Instruments

The Texarkana College Music Department presented a student music forum Nov. 25, at the First Baptist Church.

Students in the music department, under the direction of Murry Alewine, Sue McCrossen, Gary Bond, Nona Culpepper and James Herrin, who participated in the forum were: Jim Barone, snare, playing “Glenwood Boy;” George Frazier, tenor saxophone, “Two Bourees from 3rd Cello Suite;” Carole Kelley, organ, Praeludien in g minor;” Sharon Camp, piano, “Sonatina op. 55, no. 3;” Cliff Garner, trombone, “Allegro Etude;” Michael Walston, alto saxophone, “Elle est Partie;” Sylvia Ault, organ, “Alle Menschen Mussen Sterben.”

BARITONE — David Sellers, baritone, accompanied by Murry Alewine, division chairman of the TC music department, presented “Pui m’iepiaga quel ciglio nero” at the music recital Nov. 25.

Debra Smith, soprano, sang “He’s Gone Away” and “Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes;” Mark Neal, Tenor, “The Vagabond” and “The Green-Eyed Dragon;” David Sellers, baritone, “Pui m’iepiaga quel ciglio nero” and “In diesen heiligen Hallen;” Sarah Taylor, soprano, “Rugiadose, ordase” and “Lovliest of Trees;” Sharon Camp, soprano, “Voi Che Sapete” and “Chinese Nursery Rhymes;” Nancy Hicks, soprano, “Music I Heard With You” and “How Lovely Are Thy Dwellings;” and Beth Brine, a preparatory division student, sang “When Love is Kind” and “The Blue Madonna.”
