Owen Completes Run

James Owen, sophomore PE major, was among the 47 runners who finished the American National Marathon which was held recently in Galveston. Two hundred and forty runners from around the country started the race, but most could not finish the 26 mile length.

The race was held along the Seawall Boulevard in Galveston which allowed ambulances, which were used many times, to follow the runners.

“People were dropping right and left,” Owen said, “due to the fact that some of them were not in shape for the race.”

Owen, however, was in shape for the race, saying, “I wasn’t even sore the next day.”
