Five TC physical education instructors are attending a two-day state convention for the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation in Fort Worth today.
Henry Duke, Miss Norma Nelson, Hubert Dungan, Wayne Williams and Mrs. Sue Works are attending seminars in dance, professional preparation, and all areas of physical education. “We are especially interested in the aquatic seminars because our pool is near completion and we are in the process of planning a program,” Mrs. Works said.
Tonight the instructors will view a demonstration in rhythms presented by children of various ages enrolled in Fort Worth Public Schools. They will also hear a talk on “Becoming Physically Fit,” by the author of several physical education textbooks.
Duke, Dungan and Williams left Wednesday in order to survey the pools of neighboring colleges and recreation centers, including Tarrant County Junior College, TCU, and the General Dynamics Recreation Center.
