With Thanksgiving just around the corner, everyone will be looking forward to a big turkey dinner. These homemade rolls will add the finishing touch to that special meal. They are easy to make and delicious.
Hot Rolls
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 yeast (mix and let foam up, then whip up before adding ingredients)
1 1/2 cups dry milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening (Crisco, melted)
1 T. salt
3 1/2 lbs. flour (10 cups, unsifted)
Dissolve yeast in water. Set aside. Put dry ingredients in mixer and blend (or use your hands). Add yeast, water, and shortening. Blend until it turns loose of bowl. Let rise until double in size. Cook at 400 degrees.
