Pediatrician Speaks To Psychology Class

J. A. Rorie, M.D.

J. A. Rorie, M.D., who has practiced pediatrics in Texarkana for twenty years, spoke to John Benson’s psychology class on Dec. 3, regarding the development and problems of children from birth through adolescence.

Dr. Rorie is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and received internship training at Mercy Hospital in Chicago.

The doctor stated the first thing a newborn responded to was love and later he would react to his environment. He discussed the different stages of growth and a child’s normal capabilities at each stage.

Problems concerning sleep patterns, language, feeding, toilet training, and behavior were discussed with the students participating by asking relevant questions.
