The local People Helping People organization will have a Thanksgiving Disco Dance at the Arkansas National Guard Armory beginning at 9 p.m. on Nov. 25.
According to Duane Nelson, PHP public relations and and disc jockey for the dance, “The dance will be a BYOB, and everybody knows what that is. Set ups for drinks will be sold inside.”
Nelson stressed that, “This dance, and all other activities of the PHP, is for everybody, not just blacks and not just whites. This is what PHP is all about.”
Admission to the dance is 2.00 presale and $2.50 at the door. Advance tickets can be bought from any member of the PHP organization or contact Alan Gouldin in the TCC ext. 366.
Proceeds from the dance will be used by the PHP to supply Christmas gift baskets to needy families in the Texarkana area.
