Psychology Class Tours Day Care Center

John Benson’s Psychology class visited the Twin City Day Care Center of Texarkana November 20.

The Day Care Center provides continuous educational experience, needed day care and protection for children, and it gives the child a chance to live with people of his own age group, under skilled guidance. He also learns to value himself as well as others.

The center has year-round educational developmental programs for children from 18 months to 6 years, and the schedule is adapted for special events such as the Junior League Story Hour and Music Therapy Group, and Planned Visitors to the program. College student volunteers also participate in regularly scheduled activities. Director of the center is Miss Dorothy Reitman.

Dr. Shirl Burnell, clinical director at the Texarkana Psychological Service, spoke to Benson’s class Monday about the attitudes of the youth of the 1970s.
