Eighty-five entrants participated in TC’s first swim meet Thursday in the Aquatic Center.
Individual races were in 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard breaststroke, and 100-yard freestyle.
Team races consisted of the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 100-yard medley relay.
Danny Edwards took first place in the men’s 50-yard freestyle, with Paul Honnell second. Norma Crunsten took first place in the women’s race with a time of 35.0 seconds, with Marjean Dupree second.
The men’s 50 yard breaststroke was won by Tom Hinderhot with a time of 37.5 seconds. Bruce Miles placed second. Becky Boyd took the women’s race with a time of 48.0.
A time of 36.9 seconds in the 50-yard backstroke was good enough for Paul Addington to take first, with Bryan Williams second. Mary Porter won the woman’s backstroke with a time of 54.4.
The men’s 100-yard individual medley, divided into four laps of 25 yards each, in which the entrant swims the back crawl on the first lap, the American crawl in the second, the breaststroke in the third and finishes up with the American crawl in the fourth, was won by Bruce Miles with a time of 1 minute, 27.4 seconds. Norma Crunstein took the women’s race with a time of 1.45.
The 200-yard men’s freestyle relay was won by the team of Danny Edwards, Paul Addington, Paul Honnell and Joe Mullins, with a time of 2 minutes, .06.9 seconds. Becky Boyd, Jerri Moore, Sharon Rainey, and Sandra Allen won the women’s freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 54.9 seconds.
John Faunt Le Roy, Rafael Perez, Kirk Blair, and Donnie Wattinger won the 100-yard medly relay with a time of 1 minute, .02.5 seconds. 1 minute, 19.9 seconds won the women’s medley for Becky Boyd, Sherry Sessions, Jerri Moore, and Sandra Allen.
Trophies for the winners will be awarded before the Christmas break.
Another meet is planned in March.
