Nursing Dept.
The TCC Nursing Department will have a Christmas Party for all Heath Occupations Department students and faculty in the TCC Ballroom on Dec. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Surprise guests at the party will be Santa Claus with his elfs and Dr. Nelson’s Country Band.

Nelson Elected Vice President
Dr. Carl Nelson, TCC President, was recently elected to the position of Vice President of the Texas Association of College Board Members and Administrators. This organization is comprised of all community and junior college board trustees, members and presidents. He will serve in this capacity thru 1979 and is president elect of the organization for 1980.
In addition to working with the Texas Association of College Board Members and Administrators, Dr. Nelson serves as a member of the executive council of the Texas Public Community and Junior College Association and the legislative commission of the Texas Public Community and Junior College Association.
Addington Elected Delegate
Ron Addington, professor of Journalism at Texarkana Community College, was elected in the November 7 general election, to be a delegate to the Arkansas Constitutional Convention. He will represent Howard and the northern two thirds of Sevier counties in Arkansas.
Addington will be one of 100 delegates to meet in Little Rock next summer to rewrite Arkansas’ 104 year old State Constitution.
The citizens of Arkansas will vote on the proposed new constitution to be drafted by the convention in a general election in November 1980.
Addington defeated State Representative Corkey Carnahan and Mayor Bill Holliday, both of Nashville.
Nursing Seminar To Be Held
An Emergency Room Nurses Seminar was held at Texarkana Community College from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 30 and December 1.
The subject of the seminar was “Cardiovascular Intrusive Emergencies” and is the second of a series to be sponsored by TCC in coordination with the Texas Department of Health Resources.
Some of the speakers for the seminar included Linda Adams, R.N., Walter C. Barnes, M.D., R.H. Chappell, M.D., Norris L. Nelson, M.D., and Abdul Waheed, M.D. from Texarkana, Gary Hart, M.D., Kathy Matulaitis, and James Richardson, M.D. from Dallas, Clarence Temple, M.D. from Paris and George Vick, EMT/ Paramedic from Houston.
