Spirit of Christmas

The Christmas spirit has clunked the campus with a generous dose of “feeling”—seen in the faces, felt in the hearts, heard in the voices and expressed in the animated action of TC students. A highly contagious atmosphere of warmth and good cheer is on the rampage, but the spirit of unity and joy in the hearts of men stirs only for a single month.

Why must it follow, that once the music stops, the decorations taken down and put into storage, the trees removed and crammed into garbage cans, people return to their state of aloofness? Why can’t there be Christmas in February, April or September, at least in spirit?

They have not found the answer yet, but Debbie Cervini, Harold Abney, Charles Levine Lee, Ruth Golden, David Menting, Connie Waller and Anna Crawford have proposed a resolution: the “spirit of Christmas” shall be constant 365 days a year.
