TC Faculty Representative At University of Texas Meet

Texarkana College was represented by 14 faculty members and four administrators at the first meeting of Region VIII Consortium at the University of Texas in Austin Nov. 20–22.

The consortium of the developing institutions program was made up of seven colleges in Oklahoma and Texas. The first workshop study was “Assessment of Professional Performance” and was conducted by representatives of the University of Texas.

Each department of Texarkana College was represented at the consortium by the department chairman and one other member of the division elected by the respective members of the division.

Dean Levi H. Hall served as chairman of the TC delegation. Bill Hughes, dean of students; Dale Works, night services director; and Bill Murdock, vocational services director, also attended the meeting. Other representatives were Murry Alewine, chairman, and Ralph Caver of the fine arts division; Robert Mills, chairman, and Frances Watson of the business administration division; Odell Fowler, chairman, and Michael Mankins of the mathematics division. Norma Nelson, chairman, and Sue Works, physical education.

Paul McFerran, chairman, and Joel McGee of the science and engineering division; Robert Williams, chairman, and Lester Meredith of the social sciences division; Mrs. Margaret Montgomery, chairman, and Miss Lois Gardner of the language arts division.
