Celebration of Life, Abundance
Thanksgiving, the herald of the holiday season, begins a long weekend for Texarkana College students tomorrow.
The celebration of life and abundance recognized since 1621 will mean a big turkey dinner for some and more bologne sandwiches for others but the atmosphere of a holiday will prevail regardless of the menu.
The last long weekend before finals will tempt students to get on the road with weekend trips and blasts.
Returning to school Monday with sated appetites, cold turkey sandwich lunches, and tall weekend tales, students face the last day for dropping courses and study week for final exams. With the Monday morning drag amplified, some will express Thanksgiving that the 96 hour party is finally over, but it is doubtful that any will pass up festivities this weekend for the sake of Monday.
For the best weekend for all, we hope that everyone will plan their activities and if travel is to be involved that absolute safety be exercised in driving so that we may see all the friendly faces back Monday.
