Attention veterans! G.I. Bill benefits have been increased for those who served before Dec. 31, 1976. The new law establishes a new program for those recruited after that Dec. 31 date. Service men and women now on active duty are still covered and will continue to accrue the familiar GI Bill benefits as before. For those on active duty, the bill increases benefits in two ways. It extends maximum benefits from the current 36 months to 45 months and increases the government’s monthly payment to students by 8 percent. For further information, veterans should contact Mike Wages in TCC’s VA office located in the administration building.
