“You’ve heard the saying that the early bird catches the worm.” Well, that is what the TC Players discussed at their meeting last week. They are getting an early start over the Christmas holidays on their spring production, “A Doll’s House,” by looking for different items to set the stage for the play.
At the meeting, Mrs. Mildred Parsons, director, announced that the play called for furniture of the Victorian period. “We are looking for love seats, chairs, and a pedestal table,” said Mrs. Parsons. She also commented that smaller accessories needed are tablecloths, pictures, rugs, and an umbrella stand.
Mrs. Parsons added that the need not be authentic, but just have authentic characteristics. Even though the stage setting will not be needed until Feb. 24, Mrs. Parsons said that she would like to be contacted as soon as the items are located so that she will know what is available. She concluded by saying that the utmost care will be taken on all items borrowed for the play.
Also announced at the meeting was the job of stage manager for the play. Walton Gamble was awarded the job and commented that he has been in every play and musical produced by TC and that this time he is ready to get some experience in stage crew work.
In the near future, the players plan to attend the American College Theater Festival in Fort Worth.
