Four TC professors attended the Biology Curriculum Study Conference at Grayson County College in Sherman, Dec. 7.
Willard Pyle, chairman of the TC biology department, participated on the program by discussing biology at Texarkana College. Joe Burgess and Joel McGee from the biology department, and Paul McFerran, chairman division of science and engineering at TC also attended.
The biology faculty of senior colleges, universities, and two-year schools of northeast Texas met for a continuing study conference on “a modern Biology Curriculum.” The conference was chaired by professors Robert Williams and Bill Wilson of East Texas State University.
The study is concerned with core curriculum studies for students majoring in biology, as well as others whose curriculum requires a laboratory science and those interested in information. The study, made in response to a request from the Higher Education Coordinating Board of Texas, is aimed at a smooth transfer of credits between colleges and universities.
