Intramural Roundup

Finals in both men and women’s volleyball ball competition are scheduled for the first week in January. Ten teams are entered in both the men’s and women’s competition with 73 men and 78 female participants.


Larry Pinkham recently took first place in the men’s archery competition with Wayne Middlebrooks taking second place and Larry Hall capturing third place in the ten-man field.


In girl’s archery competition, Betty Watson picked up a first place with Caroline Craw and Mary Addison capturing second and third place respectively.


Bill Yarbrough took first place in the cross-country race on Dec. 5 with a winning time of 5:31 in a two-man field.


Anyone interested in organizing an intramural basketball team will meet Jan. 30 to turn in a list of his players in to Coach.


Play in the basketball tournament will begin Feb. 8.


Back in October Circle K fielded the winning flag football team for the second year in a row with a 4-0 record and a 7-0 victory over the All-Stars on the last play of the game.

The Dirty Dozen took the runner-up spot in the competition that included eight other teams besides these two. A total of 134 men took part in the tournament.


Also scheduled for next semester are tennis and ping pong singles and doubles tournaments for both men and women. Other individual events to look forward to next semester are basketball free-throw shooting and shooting accuracy competition, weight lifting, and track for the men and trampoline for both the men and women.
