The Bulldog Annual Staff of 1956-57 will present the Texarkana College Presentation Ball, to be held Saturday night, Dec. 15 in the College gym, starting at 8:00 P.M. Everybody is invited, but must come with an advance ticket or purchase a ticket at the door.
Highlights of the ball will be the crowning of Miss Texarkana College, the dedicating of the Bulldog Annual, and the announcement of College Favorites.
The 12 favorites, elected by the student body December 5, are:
Chuck Winchell, a sophomore from DeKalb, elected Campus Beau. His major is pre-law. Chuck is a member of the Bulldog football team and also had lead in the Fun Night play, “Hail, the Hunkering Hero.”
Ann Anderson, a sophomore from Texarkana, elected Most Beautiful. She is a secondary education major, one of the co-editors of the annual, and one of the Homecoming Maids.
Dudley Sumner, a sophomore from Wichita Falls, elected Most Popular Boy. He is a member of the Bulldog football team, vice-president of the Student Council, and is very active in club activities.
Ann Atchley, a sophomore from DeKalb, was elected Most Popular Girl. Her major is elementary education. Ann was elected Bulldog Homecoming Queen for 1956-57.
Ray Ryan, a freshman from Texarkana, elected Campus Personality. Ray is a cheerleader this year and also a member of the Bulldog Annual Staff.
Dottie Anderson, a sophomore from Texarkana, elected Campus Sweetheart. Dottie is co-editor of the Bulldog Annual. Her major is secondary education. She is a member of the Girls’ Outing Club.
Ray Campbell, a sophomore from Greggton, elected Sophomore Favorite. Ray is tri-captain of the Bulldog football team and was recently named on the all-conference team.
Beth Runyan, a sophomore from Avery, elected Sophomore Favorite. Her major is physical education, and she is a member of the Bulldogettes.
Tony Mandino, a freshman from Oil City, Louisiana, elected Freshmen Favorite. Tony is a member of the Bulldog football team and made honorable mention on the all-conference team.
Sylvia Metts, a freshman from Texarkana, elected Freshmen Favorite. Sylvia is a member of the Bulldogettes.
Bobby Bledsoe, a sophomore from Texarkana, elected Best All Around Boy. Bobby is a member of the Bulldog football team and also a member of the annual staff.
Sue Smith, a sophomore from Hooks, was elected Best All Around Girl. Sue is a cheerleader and is also a member of the annual staff.
Music for the ball will be produced by David Allen (saxophone) and Buddy Meredith (drums) both of Hooks; Johnny Morman (trumpet) of DeKalb; Charles Peters (trumpet) of New Boston; Ross Poteet (trumpet) of Simms; Dwayne Laramore (piano), and Tommy Knott (trombone) of Texarkana; Travis Davis (saxophone) of Texarkana. Miss Charlotte Tomberlain of Naples, the band vocalist, will be featured in several numbers.
