The Senate Report

A “Leadership Lab” was conducted Tuesday evening, November 30, in the Continental Room of the Student Center for the officers of all campus organizations. Instructions and discussion as to specific duties of each office were included. See details page 4.


Student Directories are in the hands of Smart Printers and should be on sale the latter part of December for 25¢ per copy. Directories may be obtained at that time from Senators.


The student body Thanksgiving Project of feeding and clothing a needy family was termed a success. Expenses amounted to $40.00 including $35.00 for the “Squires,” who provided music for the 9:30-10:30 Dance, November 23. Approximately $70 in food and donations were collected.


Negotiations are now being made to secure “Ron Gray and the Countdowns” of Southern State to provide music for the SNOW BALL, the Senate-sponsored Christmas dance. Other bands being considered are the “Rogues” from Henderson State Teachers College and the “Governors” from Stephen F. Austin.


Plans for the SNOW BALL, the Christmas dance, December 16, are underway. The attire is formal and admission is $1.00 per person plus a student activity card. NO STAGS WILL BE ADMITTED.

Committee chairmen include Wendell Jones, Decorations, and Dan Moore, Publicity.


Senate Vice-president, Bob Minton, and Senate Secretary Sharon Ector, were the Rotary Student Guests for the month of November.


The next Senate meeting will be held December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Senate Room. All interested students are welcome.
